Google Gemini Unveils Lyria 3: AI‑Powered Music Creation Now in Gemini App
Google has expanded its Gemini AI suite with a new music‑making feature powered by DeepMind’s Lyria 3 model. The addition lets users generate original songs, instrumentals, and soundscapes directly from the Gemini app, turning a simple text prompt into a fully‑produced track in seconds.
Lyria 3 builds on the success of earlier Gemini AI capabilities, offering higher‑fidelity audio, support for multiple languages, and the ability to tailor compositions to specific moods, genres, and instrumentation. The tool is currently available in the Gemini app for users in the United States and will roll out to additional regions later this year.
To keep the experience safe and appropriate, Google has set an age restriction of 13+ for the music feature and enforces content policies that prohibit the creation of copyrighted or extremist material. Users can also edit generated tracks, adjust tempo, and export the final audio file for personal use.
