Spotify Unveils SongDNA: Interactive Song Credits for Premium Users

Spotify has announced the global rollout of SongDNA, a new feature for Premium iOS/Android users that offers interactive song credits, including samples, covers, and collaborator details. Built on WhoSampled data, SongDNA is currently in beta worldwide and lets listeners explore the musical DNA behind their favorite tracks.

With SongDNA, users can tap on a song to see a visual map of its influences, discover hidden samples, and learn about the artists and producers who shaped the track. The feature aims to deepen fan engagement and provide a richer listening experience by surfacing the often‑overlooked connections that make music a collaborative art form.

Spotify says the rollout will be phased, starting with major markets and expanding globally over the next few months. The company also plans to integrate SongDNA insights into its recommendation algorithms, helping users discover new music through shared DNA strands.
