Apple Removes iPhone Vibe Coding App Over App Store Guideline Violation
Apple has taken down the iPhone Vibe coding app from the App Store after determining that the app breached App Store Guideline 2.5.2. The app, which allowed users to create simple iOS applications using AI‑driven “vibe‑coding,” was flagged for enabling the generation of code that could be distributed outside of Apple’s approved ecosystem.
The removal follows earlier enforcement actions against similar AI‑assisted development tools that Apple deemed to circumvent its review process. In a statement, Apple emphasized its commitment to protecting users and developers by ensuring that all software distributed through the App Store complies with security, privacy, and quality standards.
According to the original Gizmodo report, the Vibe app let users describe app functionality in plain language, after which the service would automatically generate Swift code and package it for iOS. While the concept promised to lower the barrier to entry for aspiring developers, Apple argued that the approach could produce apps that bypass essential review checkpoints.
