Lucid Motors announced a software update that brings both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the Gravity SUV. The update, released this week, allows owners to seamlessly project their smartphone interfaces onto the vehicle’s infotainment screen, giving them access to navigation, music, messaging, and a host of third‑party apps directly from the dashboard.
The move comes as Lucid seeks to broaden the appeal of its premium electric SUV amid a competitive EV market. While the company has been praised for its long‑range battery technology and luxurious interior, critics have noted the lack of native smartphone integration compared with rivals such as Tesla and Mercedes‑Benz. By adding CarPlay and Android Auto, Lucid aims to close that gap and improve the overall user experience.
