Arm Unveils Custom AI‑Optimized CPU Built on TSMC 3nm Process

Arm has announced a major shift in its strategy by designing and manufacturing its own AI‑focused processor. Leveraging TSMC’s cutting‑edge 3nm process, the new chip is engineered for high‑performance, low‑power data‑center and agentic AI workloads.

The processor, positioned as an “AGI CPU,” promises a significant boost in performance‑per‑watt, making it attractive for large‑scale AI inference and training tasks. Early adopters reportedly include industry leaders such as Meta, OpenAI, SAP, and several other AI‑centric firms.

Full production is slated for the second half of the year, with Arm aiming to deliver a competitive alternative to existing AI accelerators while maintaining its reputation for energy efficiency.
