Spotify has introduced Smart Reorder, a new AI‑powered feature that automatically sorts playlists by beats‑per‑minute (BPM) and musical key. The goal is to create smoother transitions between tracks, giving listeners a more cohesive listening experience without manual tweaking.
Only available to Premium subscribers, Smart Reorder taps into Spotify’s recommendation engine to analyze a user’s listening habits, detect the tempo and key of each song, and then rearrange the order to maintain musical flow. The feature works across all personal playlists and can be toggled on or off with a single click.
