Telangana Govt Partners with Yotta to Launch India’s Largest AI Supercomputer with 25,000 GPUs

Unleashing the Power of AI: Telangana and Yotta Unveil India’s Largest Supercomputer

The realm of artificial intelligence (AI) in India is poised for a seismic shift as the Telangana Government and UBOS partner, Yotta Data Services, join forces to establish the nation’s largest AI supercomputer. This groundbreaking initiative promises to catapult India’s AI capabilities to new heights, paving the way for unprecedented advancements and positioning the country as a global leader in this transformative field.

Forging a Path Towards AI Supremacy

The UBOS partner program has facilitated this monumental collaboration, which will see the creation of a cutting-edge, high-performance GPU-based AI supercomputer within a purpose-built, high-density, liquid-cooled data center campus in Hyderabad’s AI City. The first phase of this colossal undertaking, comprising 4,000 high-performance GPUs and the inaugural data center within the campus, dubbed Yotta H1, is slated to become operational within the next 24 months.

“The government of Telangana understands the transformative potential of AI and is dedicated to leveraging this technology to drive growth and create opportunities for people throughout the state. Yotta’s investment and commitment align perfectly with our vision of establishing Hyderabad as the AI capital of India,” said Sh. Jayesh Ranjan, special chief secretary for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C), Government of Telangana.

Specifications of the AI Supercomputer

Once fully constructed, this AI supercomputer will be a marvel of technological prowess, powered by an astounding 25,000 GPUs. The enterprise AI platform will house a specialized GPU cloud infrastructure, providing access to high-performance computing resources fueled by approximately 4,000 NVIDIA H100/H200 GPUs (and/or equivalent and higher from NVIDIA and other chip manufacturers). These GPUs will be interconnected with high-speed InfiniBand or equivalent ethernet networking, enabling seamless collaboration and data sharing.

A Comprehensive Suite of AI Services

Through a self-service portal, the AI Cloud Data Center campus will offer a comprehensive suite of AI services tailored to meet the diverse needs of startups, educational institutions, research labs, enterprises, and government bodies. These services will encompass Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS), empowering users to seamlessly consume GPU clusters for their AI model training, fine-tuning, and inferencing needs.

Yotta will implement a comprehensive software orchestration layer along with a marketplace that empowers customers to seamlessly consume GPU clusters for their AI model training, fine-tuning, as well as inferencing needs. The suite of products and services will support customers in developing AI models and putting them into inferencing usage through a flexible “pay as you use” model on an online self-service platform, ensuring on-demand access to AI resources and services tailored to their specific needs.

Embracing Sustainability and Green Practices

In a testament to its commitment to environmental responsibility, the data center will source the majority of its power from green sources and utilize the latest environmentally responsible technologies and practices. This includes the use of power-efficient chips, free air cooling, and liquid cooling systems to achieve optimal Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE). Yotta aims to achieve the IGBC Platinum rating for the facility, underscoring its dedication to green building practices.

Unleashing the Potential of AI

The UBOS solutions for startups and enterprises alike will benefit immensely from this groundbreaking initiative, enabling them to harness the full potential of AI and drive innovation across diverse sectors. From healthcare and finance to manufacturing and logistics, the applications of this AI supercomputer are boundless, promising to revolutionize industries and shape the future of technology in India.

As the Telangana Government and Yotta Data Services embark on this ambitious journey, the world watches with bated breath, eagerly anticipating the transformative impact this AI supercomputer will have on India’s technological landscape and beyond. With its unparalleled computing power and cutting-edge capabilities, this initiative is poised to propel India into a new era of AI excellence, solidifying its position as a global leader in this rapidly evolving field.
