Airbnb Launches Kitchen‑Stocking Pilot with Instacart to Boost Guest Experience
Airbnb is testing a new kitchen‑stocking service in partnership with Instacart, allowing guests to place grocery orders directly through the Airbnb app before and during their stay. The pilot, which kicked off in select U.S. cities this month, aims to enhance the convenience of short‑term rentals by ensuring kitchens are stocked with essentials such as milk, coffee, snacks, and fresh produce.
Hosts who join the program receive a $25 credit for each guest order and can set a maximum spend limit, while guests enjoy a seamless checkout experience that integrates Instacart’s delivery network with Airbnb’s booking flow. The service is currently available in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Austin, with plans to expand based on early feedback.
According to Airbnb, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to make stays feel more like home and to differentiate its platform through added amenities. Instacart benefits by tapping into a new customer base of travelers who may not have previously used its service.
